Earwigs - She's So Naive

The reason why I post this record is very simple. Click here and you know what I mean. I saw this record listed a few times, but so much cheaper. Anyway, I guess this is very hard to find today and you have a chance to get your original copy paying a very high price.
However, I see no other way you can hear it and I've decided to rip this one from my collection.
The Earwigs came out from Orange County, California and were Mike Ubaldini (vocals, guitar), Ashton Rands (guitar), Tom Hughes (bass) and Dave Reed (drums). Their only single was released on the small private label Rock-A-Mod Records in 1982. The band has a myspace site with a complete biography and early demo recordings. Great punk 'n' roll/powerpop band. Enjoy!

Manic Jabs - Autophagous

Manic Jabs were an obnoxious punk rock band formed in 1979 and based in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, UK. Originally comprised of Charlie Dobbs (vocals), Neil (guitar & screaming), Paul (bass & screaming) and Jab (drums & jinking), "Autophagous" was their only release for Waldo's Records in 1980. The single was recorded at Alvic Studios, London, and produced by Phil Smee (Waldo's owner)...That's all I know about them, but I have to say that Manic Jabs were just terrific!

Noiz Boiz - Flashback

From Weston-super-Mare, UK, the Noiz Boiz started in March, 1981 when former Negative Earth members Mark Chapman (vocals) and Julian Gutsell (guitar, vocals) joined Andy Upstone (ex-Cassettes drummer) and Ian Foster (bass). The band soon recorded a demo tape and after several gigs around Bristol and Somerset area, Caveman Records released the limited edition double A side single "Noiz Boiz'' b/w ''Flashback" in May '81. Despite Noiz Boiz were a great punk/new wave/powerpop band, they hadn't much success and disbanded in 1982.

Tremors - Tonite's My Nite

Here's a classic power pop 45 from California. Hailing from Burbank, The Tremors were fronted by Dave Roeder and recorded this only release in 1978 via Fiction Records. On the A-Side we have "Tonite's My Nite" and its really OK, however "Tell Me What's Your Name" is not as good in my opinion.....Judge for yourself.

Ama-Dots - Hit Girls

Amazing and hard to find 7'' kbd gem by this fantastic Milwaukee-based punk/new wave band, released on Hunky Records in 1980. The Ama-Dots got together in July 1979, consisting of Boolah Hayes (vocals), Lisa Winklund (bass), Gary Strasburg (guitar) and Connie Ruiz (drums). I picked this one up on ebay a few years ago... So, enjoy it!

Team 23 - Whatever Moves You

From Coventry, UK. Team 23 was formed by Gray Summers (g, v) and Dave Pepper (g, v) just as the punk band The X-Certs split up in the late 70's. The other team section consisted of Jerome Heisler (vocals, guitar), Smith Graham (bass), John Hewitt (ex-Blown Fuse, drums) and Adrian Black (keyboards). After a gig supporting Dexy's Midnight Runners, Dave left to form Courtiers Of Fashion being replaced by Jim Landsbury and Gray added a brass section to the band with Roy Wall (sax) and Lynn Thompson (trumpet) to get that full soul sound for recording the double A side single "Whatever Moves You/Move Into The Rhythm" on the Specials drummer John Bradbury's Race Records label, released in 1981. Team 23 started an acting career supported The Specials, The Selecter and Madness but the group disbanded soon after. Jerome and Ade joined The End.

Rivvits - Never

Second 7'' from 1979 by this UK band based in London. On the A-Side, "Never" gets plenty of action with the alto sax solo by Nigel Scragg. A great song backed with another great one, "Boy Meets Girl''. The single was released on Alien records. You can see more of them here

Scene - I've Had Enough

There have been many mod revival bands in the UK who have called themselves The Scene. These guys were from Dudley, West Midlands, and recorded their lone single in 1979 for a small label called Inferno. It was produced by Ron Lee. The Scene was formed by Gary Corbett (guitar & vocals), John Right (guitar), Colin Danks (bass) and Keeron M'Gee (drums).

Totally Outta Hand Band - Teenage Revolution

Extremly rare UK punk/wave 7'' from Cinderford-based The Totally Outta Hand Band. It was launched by Kilgaron Records in 1978. The producer was Fritz Fryer, but I never did know who the band was.

Arthur 2 Stroke / Noise Toys 7'' Split

The Wundersea World of Jacques Cousteau was a song that slipped out on this 7'' split single (Anti-Pop Records) in 1979. The other song was "Pocket Money" by The Noise Toys. Both bands started out playing their music as part of the Newcastle punk scene in the late 70's. Arthur 2 Stroke was originally formed by Arthur (guitar, vocals), WM7 (bass) and Naughty Norman (drums). The Noise Toys were a four piece band but I don't have any info about them, so feel free to leave a comment if you know something.

Stadium Dogs - Easy Beat

Here's the first single by the english band Stadium Dogs recorded in 1977 for Audiogenic Records. The band consisted of Paul Griffiths (g,v), Peter Cousins (b,v), Jonathan Perkins (k,v), Kirk Thorn (g,v) and Kevin Wilkinson (d,v). "Android Rocker" is a pretty good new wave song in my opinion and "Easy Beat" is cool enough. There was a second edition of it re-released by Magnet in 1978, and also a full album called "What's Next?". Check it out

"Once In A Lifetime" was produced by Lee Wood and backed with The Doors cover "Hello I Love You" (produced by Jake Anthony). Zounds - Dancing

Formed in Reading in 1977, the Zounds were one of the most significant bands of the anarcho punk movement in England. The band's initial line-up featured Steve Lake (vocals/bass), Steve Burch (guitar, later replaced by Lawrence Wood), Nick Godwin (guitar) and Jimmy Lacey (drums). In 1980, the band recorded their brilliant debut EP "Can't Cheat Karma" which was released by their fellow Crass label mates. Outskirts - Blue Line

I don't know too much about these english pop/mod-girls called The Outskirts and I'd really like to have more information about them. The band consisted of Maggie Beck (v/g), Caröle Child (b), Greg Clark (g) and Sasha Geoffrey (d). This 7'' came out in 1981 on a very small indie music label called True Religion. In 1984, Mitch Easter's band Let's Active covered "Blue Line" on the album "Cypress" but here is the original written by Maggie Beck. If anyone has additional info, I'd greatly appreciate any comments. Thanks!

Plastic Idols - Adventure

"Adventure" b/w "Remix" was their only single released in 1980 by Clay Records (home of Discharge, GBH, The Lurkers and more...) Now it's up to you! Download
